When the kids were little, I used to take them to Mt. Saint Helens on picnics, hiking, the forestry center for homeschooling activities and just for the drive. We always had such good times there and have fond memories. Tad needed to travel for a few days so while he was gone, I packed up a picnic and the kids and we went back to Mt. Saint Helens.
It was such a beautiful day. We went to the visitor center on the south rim and watched the great movie, looked at exhibits and hiked the trail. We decided it would be fun to take the helicopter tour so we backtracked to the visitors center that has the helipad and signed up!
The view was amazing and the whole experience will be treasured as it always has been. Washington State is just one of those amazing places you feel so fortunate to be a part of.
Wow .. what a ride!
