We try to go to the Olympia area ballet to see the Nutcracker each year as our Goddaughter Madeline is one of the main Ballerinas.
This year she had two roles, the Dew Drop (above in blue) and a snowflake (below)
Apparently they aren't supposed to 'sit' in their costumes! LOL I'm sure her legs were SO tired!

When I was young I remember the many hours it took to prepare for my ballet recitals. When I had advanced to toe shoes, my feet were so sore from the hours of practice that they bled. But once the recital was over, I seemed to have forgotten all the torture I went through to get there because it was so euphoric that we made it through another recital.
