Bahai Santa Maria

We arrived in Bahai Santa Maria November 5th, 0900 after sailing downwind 10-15 knots NW wind. We anchored close in to shore. There are fairly large breakers. A few locals have traveled in to set up a cantina on shore and the panga fisherman are making their boats available for taxi services. Pea went swimming and Tina broke out the kayaks for a good paddle.

Nov. 6th – It’s windy! Up to 20 knots, BIG SWELLS. The party ashore has been postponed until it is safe for the pangas to transport due to low tide and big beach break. Water temp is 70 plus degrees. Pea says “Mui Lindo Aqui!”

We all made it safe to the beach party. Tad & I left before sunset, Pea and Davis came back on the very last panga that came out of the big breakers! A few other sailors had to take refuge on our boat until a dingy could come take them to their boat. 72 people ended up having to sleep on the beach because the breakers got too dangerous in the dark!

The next am was just beautiful.

We made our way to the start line and began the last leg of our trip to Cabo. We passed the 2000 mark on the GPS!
