We dinghied into the marina and then walked to through town towards the highway and caught a bus to the Puerto Vallarta Marina shopping area. The air conditioned bus cost 25 pesos each, one way ($2.50). Our goal for today was to find some rubber tubing (Tad) and to scout out a gringo used book store (Tina). We were lucky on both accounts and enjoyed a blended mocha coffee as a Thanksgiving treat! Fish/shrimp taco’s for lunch and a quick stop into Walmart de Mexico for some fruit, electrical switches and a cleaning toothbrush before heading back to La Cruz.
The bus back to La Cruz was cheaper and well ventilated! We bought our Thanksgiving dinner as soon as we stepped off the bus at a roadside rotisserie stand. We stopped for bagged ice, beer and picked up our laundry at the lavandaria ($10, 3 loads washed & folded!) and headed home!
We put stuff away, checked the internet, read, napped, swam, talked and emailed. Dinner at around 7 pm was perfect: Rotisserie chicken, corn tortillas, salsa, rice and leftover veggies from the defrosting freezer (did I mention we’ve gone eco and unplugged the freezer?) and the best: a saved bottle of Champagne that was a Bon Voyage gift from our friends John & Rosie!
.... and that's Thanksgiving in the life of us as cruiser's.. pretty boring eh?
We are so thankful for our family and friends; all those who supported our vision of this dream come true. How lucky to be able to sit in your jammies on the back of a boat buzzed on champagne and watch the sparkle of the lights, fireworks in the distance with your true love by your side. Aside from the absence of my babies (patience for my turn at Christmas), this was a truly lovely Thanksgiving!

Very Kewl.....Need I say...we miss Mexico! It won't be long until your (Tina) babies will be with you. Enjoy, Enjoy!! We plan a mid-December sail in the islands...great time of year (albiet it is a little cold), but we have all the anchorages to ourselves. Keep a sharp eye on the horizon for Eager Dreamer.
