Montague Harbour

June 11, 2007 ~ We awoke this am and decided to stay here in Montague Harbour another day. The weather was cloudy and a bit blustery so we waited and prepared to go kayaking at lunch time. John and Rosie motored over and brought us fresh crab that they caught right here in the bay!! Yum! They are continuing north so with those plans, they needed to leave today. We said our farewells and pulled on our farmer johns for some serious kayaking!

Tad and I kayaked across the bay to Montague Marine park where we beached the yaks and went on the hike around the park It was breathtakingly beautiful. The shore was white with crushed shells. The wild roses were in bloom and the scent was just a sweet perfection. We could see Imagine anchored from afar!
The winds were picking up as we climbed back into our kayaks and paddled toward the marina for a quick stop at the store for a tides book and some hard candy. Then we ventured around the other side of the bay. It began to rain so we headed back to Imagine and loaded up the kayaks.

For our "last night of our first time anchored in a foreign country” celebration dinner, we cooked up a beautiful dinner of angel hair pasta with our fresh crab and popped the cork on our last bottle of 2005 dry Johannesburg Riesling from V.Sattui Winery in Sonoma Ca. obtained on our wine tasting adventure last late summer. A perfect, perfect day!
