We awoke to a windy day, which resulted in the cancellation of our tour *sniff* .. So we decided to get as close to the bay as possible to try to see a whale with our binoculars. We drove across salt mining areas to a reserve and hung out at the visitors center. No whales to be seen, just a whale bone display. We went back to town, went to the bank and took a drive to the other side to see the dunes.
We decided to have some lunch at a Pollo cafe. These places are great! You can get a whole roasted chicken and side dishes for next to nothing. We ate what we could and then saved the rest for dinner in our room complete with self made margartitas. Turned out to be a great day anyway!
