We left the church and went out into the square. We were hungry so we headed out to find some lunch.

What's for lunch? Why an egg & bacon combo pizza of course!
True to Italian form. the combo pizza was divided by ingredient for us to see that indeed, it had a combination of many things.
After our amusing lunch .. we headed back to the square to stand in another line. It was hot! This guy was very creative in finding a way to keep the sun off his head!
Finally we made it to inside the Vatican Grottoes. It is the level below the floor of St. Peter's where many popes and a few royals are buried. Below the Grottoes is the ancient Necropolis (seen on the Scavi tour), which is the Roman "city of the dead" and excavations of St. Peter's tomb. No pictures allowed (boo)
It was interesting, but all the people praying and crying made me nervous. This statue staring at me made me nervous too .. like we were being watched! LOL .. probably were!
These uniforms crack me up!
Back outside, through the square and out for a different adventure - finding some deodorant since I was almost out ~ you would think that would be an easy task but nooooo..
Couldn't resist taking this photo .. people are interesting.
