Querceto di Castillina

Driving through the Chianti region, we kept seeing winery signs so finally we just took the turn!

It was Querceto di Castillina! We all did a little wine tasting and ended up finding one that we particularly liked.

"Whoever said money can’t buy happiness has never bought wine." - Margot Dillard, Wine and Sweet Words

Merlot Podalirio!

"Dark in color, with amazing aromas of crushed berry, violet and raspberry. Turns to mineral and fresh spices. Full-bodied, with ultra fine tannins and a long, caressing finish. Complex, rich and refined. An amazing wine from this producer. " - WS

After wine tasting we drove further, taking in the beautiful scenery and being thankful that the rain had stopped.

We pulled off again, this time into a town parking lot. However it did have hillside for a picnic. We shared all of our delicacies from Siena and gazed off in the distance for awhile.

Back in Florence we returned the car and stopped by the store to get salad makings for a shared dinner at the condo.
