Day 10, Monday: Today we caught the bus to the charming fishing village of La Cruz. It seems it is a popular destination for boaters and it also is in the process of construction of a modern marina. On our way there, we took the last seats in the very back of the bus! Every time we went over a bump, we would bounce high in the air. Once, when Tad came down, his seat went out from under him! The look on the sombrero salesman’s face sitting next to him was priceless!. Well, I got to laughing and had a hard time stopping. It was so funny, and he was fine.. just had to hold his seat in the right place so he wouldn’t fall through again! LOL, every time I think about it I crack up!
We made it to La Cruz without further incident. Made our way down to the construction site. It was coming right along. We went to take some photos and… dead batteries *sigh* this has not been the trip for picture taking! The bay beyond the construction was beautiful and there were a string of anchored boats along the break water.
We had lunch at a boaters hangout called Banana Anna’s where we got to sign the wall “s/v Imagine ~ Tad & Tina” .. neat place! Someone wrote “Paved paradise, put up a parking lot” on the dry erase board, obviously some boaters are not happy with the dredging for the new marina.
We went to the realtor’s office to inquire about the marina and found out that all 368 slips being prepared were already reserved for lease. Wow! They aren’t even finished yet and already spoken for. We decided we had better go back to Nuevo Vallarta and make reservations for next Christmas to have a place for the boat when our family and friends are here in PV with us. So we did! We rode the bus of course, but not the back seat! LOL.. Back to Los Tules for dinner on the balcony. Fresh pineapple and homemade tamales. Perfecto!
