Wednesday 22nd ~ after arriving in Rome with little sleep (thank you barking ladies) we immediately went through customs and boarded the train system. We transferred at central Rome.
Our first time we got ripped off was right away by this guy trying to 'help' by grabbing our bags & helping us board then expected an Americano tip, which obviously wasn't as much as he hoped for - he looked at it like Tad pooped in his hand!
Ended up we were on the wrong train so we quickly ran to a different train barely making it aboard before it left.
First impression of Rome is that it is dirty, lots of graffiti, cig smoke everywhere. Ewe. *cough* Not what I envisioned but hey, it's the city I guess!?
We were on the train for about 3 hours. We shared a space with 2 young men who kept giggling and singing Lady Gaga songs aloud haha. Alejandro ..
Switched trains for a short ride to main station in Florence. Walked a few blocks, a big indirect circle actually .. to our hotel to check in. Our room is nice but we are exhausted and cross eyed from jet lag.
We showered and went out to grab sandwiches and a bottle of wine. Ate & tried to stay awake but it was so hard!! We made it to about 7 pm before crashing blissfully and instantly into deep sleep.
I woke up about 1 am and read until sleep again. Vicious cycle .. haha
