St. Moritz!

We arrived in St. Moritz SO excited to be in Switzerland. We had to walk uphill to the hotel, but after the train ride it was refreshing in the rain/snow mix!

The Taxis did look tempting though!

The staff at Hotel Langard allowed us to check in early. They were SO nice!

St. Moritz is considered the oldest and one of the most famous winter resorts in the world. Due to its favorable location residents enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year. The hotel staff actually apologized to us saying that the snow was 2 months early!
We didn't mind, the snow was perfect!

We dropped our bags and then walked the town. There are a lot of high end shops expensive, name brand shops here but lucky for us, they are closed on Sunday. The town was blissfully quiet and it felt like we had it almost all to ourselves.

We were starving so we found a restaurant named Secondo - I had the most amazing veggie burger there - yum!

We walked a bit more, stopped into a chocolate shop called the Café Hanselmann . It smelled fantastic! I bought 10 truffles, which cost me 10 Franks.

We strolled town for a bit before heading back to the hotel to relax for awhile, then we headed back out a bit later to explore some more!

There is this Twelfth-century tower with a lean of 5.5 degrees. It was part of the church of St. Mauritius which was torn down in 1890.

I loved all the carving on this little Swiss chalet building ..

We passed by the Segantini Museum - Built in 1908, the museum is dedicated to artist, Giovanni Segantini (1858-1899), who spent the last five years of his life living and painting in the Engadin.

We walked down to the ice skate rink and park, then around the lake. We saw this Art Boat for children in the park.

View of town from the park side.

A few boats along the path.

Switzerland is clean .. lol .. I like this 'pick up your dogs poop' sign.

Danke - Grazie.

For dinner we went back to the same restaurant as town was pretty quiet and most restaurants were shut down. We had this delicious barely cream soup served in glass jars with the lids popped open, a lovely plate of shared bruscheta and large mugs of beer.

With bellies warm & full, we sleepily walked to the Hotel, took hot baths and snuggled under down comforters for some very restful zzzz's.
